So I got my list of Cycles shots to render while I'll be at Ciderfest. Given the amount of shots, it will probably extend to The Hearth's Warming Club. Some of those shots will take 20 minutes to render, but they'll be worth it.

So we're now at 42 shots rendered for the project, with one more that should be done rendering in about 10 hours or so.
I might be able to have full continuous sequences to show at Ciderfest after all.

So with the whole US government shutdown it seems like I'll have to do Ciderfest as a roadtrip.
I have compiled a few hours of music and audiobooks for the trip, so now I just need to plan the last details of the route.

So a little bit of a good news. I currently have 36 rendered shots for my project so far.

Interesting. It seems like there's some kind of discrepancy between how Luna and Celestia render this scene. I wondered why my scene had weird red pixels all over the place.

Caught one more bug in the production. Turns out the script to read camera coordinates from a JSON file to match the Toon Boom camera will generate glitchy data and make the camera fly all over the place.
Pretty easy fix, but I'm gonna have to rerender stuff.

Upscaling old videos is not the worst thing in the world, but to get anything half-decent you absolutely need to fine-tune a lot of settings.
There's no way YouTube will do that, and will instead brute force everything into waxy shit.

Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD.
Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned).
When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.
