Take Final Fantasy 10 for instance. Not personally my favorite game, but its one I greatly enjoy. If I let my inner critic control me, there were three separate parts of the game where I ended up frustrated and wanted to drop it. But I didn't, and ended up enjoying my time more for it.

Vaan is a fantastically written character whos only fault is an audience that was incapable of literative analysis and parsing the lore.

I loved 16 for its heart racey action moments in Bosses and especially Eikon Battles. I wouldn't trade it for any other gameplay system. There was no way to do that on any Turn Based System that FF has already done. It would be a far lesser game if it was turn based, and FF fans need to accept this.

not in a "Hah, I told you Turn based was better Squeenix, this is why you suck" way, but in a "Turn Based is finally back Square Enix! It's time for you to throw your hat in the ring and do it better than anyone else because that's what Final Fantasy is all about!" way.

-shifted away from turn based content, it simply was because there wasn't a way of doing turn based anymore without it being another rehash, at least at the time. The likes of Persona 5 and Expedition 33 are much more recent ideas that prove that the turn based genre isn't dead, but let's be honest-

I would love to see a new turn based FF mainline. However, that being said, the old style has become archaic and clunky. FF6, FF7, FF10, etc, all are masterpieces, but they're a system that simply does not work well anymore. Final Fantasy gameplay has always iterated upon itself with each new entry-

IKR? I've seen so many horror stories with the pc port of 13, and then the fact it's not verified for the steam deck either, I braced myself for crashes and issues, but nope, I made it smooth sailing. I'm like halfway through chapter 11 where the world opens up, playing it on my work breaks.

It's worked really well on my deck. Needed to turn down the settings somewhat for more lush areas but otherwise it's been running real smooth.

I swear I want to love Papa Johns but the ones nearby me have the most tasteless crust and I keep finding myself so disappointed. Pizza and an older game does sound really good right now though.
