Meeting the Fairies by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite (1888-1960) Under a full moon, a child in a nightgown, carrying a teddy bear, stands face to face with four fairies. The fairies are human-like, apart from their wings. One of the fairies reaches out to the child. At their feet there is a curved line of mushrooms, suggesting part of a fairy ring. Koala bears and birds are also present, and in the foreground there are some rabbits and much smaller elf-like figures.
