I see and hear comments from the right all the time about how awful it is to be woke. Every time, I think how awful it must be to be filled with that amount of hate, anger, and fear towards fellow humans. Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. I’m going to keep choosing love over hate.

Oh how I wish, Congress would grow a spine and do their damn jobs! They could wield so much power for good!

As we are watching those who passed this horrible bill in the congress celebrate that those among us who need the most help will be hurt and the rich will get richer, maybe we all need a reminder that those among us who help others are the real heroes!

Today was the first Mother’s Day without my mom in my life. She’s still living, but I set up boundaries and she didn’t like that I’d given up my role as the peacemaker and was no longer willing to go along to get along. But I have two beautiful children of my own who make my life special everyday.

I’m going to choose the side of love over hate.
