Defund it, blame State ownership, privatise for pennies, extort you forever.

Thames Water fined £18.2m for 'unjustified' £131.3m dividend to shareholders.

At the same time OFWAT allows Thames to hike customer bills by 35%.

Capital raised from customers who will own nothing, shareholders will get returns.

Privatisation is a scam.

Thames Water fined £18m over dividends but granted 35% bills hike by 2030
The ruling falls well short of a 59% bills hike requested by the troubled water company, as it tries to secure a bailout from investors.

At a time when our local NHS is clearly being overwhelmed, it is utter madness that hospital wards in Kendal and Barrow are going to be closed.

I will be raising these issues with the Health Secretary. The Government must be giving support to our local hospitals – not allowing wards to be closed.

Every time I read about banning books, I think of this:

Reading a book with a gay character will not make you gay any more than reading a book about Einstein will make you a genius.
If you're afraid that books might change someone's thinking, you're not afraid of books — you're afraid of thinking.

Why read books? Because reading opens minds & hearts. It helps us imagine different lives and different worlds; it can help us build a better world. So please keep reading books with kids, and encouraging them to read. There is nothing more important. #literacy #books #reading
