This is my Grandma Joan's recipe. She used candied fruit but you can use dried. Candied makes it more syrupy when the brandy is added. (I love how she's like NO RAISINS lmao she did not fuck with regular raisins). Not cooking the brandy does mean that this cake will give you a buzz.

Muta - Originally in Whisper of the Heart as a regular cat but given more depth in The Cat Returns. 10/10 rude talking cat man. Eats all the things, fights all the things. If you haven't seen The Cat Returns, dear god, go watch it right now.

Peridot - She hits all the favorite bullet points for me. Former villain, very autistic coded, trying her best in a new and scary situation, absolutely awful at acting 'normal', obsessive... Peridot has a lot of character growth. She's a mess. I love her.

Garnet - I really love Steven Universe in general, but Garnet is a wonderful representation of a good relationship (queer or otherwise). My partner and I see a lot of ourselves within Garnet (his being more like Ruby and me being more like Sapphire). She's a deeply caring individual, a guardian.

Rogue - She came from a shitty family and should have been a villain. She's extremely sensual despite her inability to touch the ones she loves. She literally takes parts of other people and adapts - a perpetual survivor. She's deeply angry but she uses her anger as a means to an end.

Scarlet Witch - Old school Wanda was an amazing character. She's ridiculously powerful. She began as a villain (like Loki) and gradually became more sympathetic. I like her best as Magneto's daughter. A Romani woman struggling to find love and acceptance while refusing to give up who she is.

Aerith / Tifa - I love both of them equally. They're both strong and courageous in their own ways. They are two sides of the same coin - women who had painful childhoods but who try their hardest to ease the pain of others. I was so glad to see more of their friendship in FF7R. They are BFFs.

Loki - Not the MCU Loki because he's painfully dull compared to Loki in the comics (especially the more modern versions). Modern comic Loki is the God of Stories. A trickster, but also someone who is inherently creative. Fluid in gender, sexuality, personality... he is who he wants to be.

Dale Cooper - Honestly I think a lot of the other characters I love come from the fact that I must have imprinted on this guy as a little kid. Don't ask why I was allowed to watch Twin Peaks as a child. Just know that Cooper is a highly pivotal character for me. He's complex. He's curious.

Data - Again, another autistic coded man. I do seem to have a type (that I relate to). He's straight forward and often misunderstands this colleagues and friends, but he tries. He tries to transcend the limitations of how he was created. He enjoys poetry, roleplaying, and his cat.

Castiel - Honestly, my reasons for liking Cas are pretty much the same as why I like Spock. Highly relatable. I loved his character growth in the original seasons. I love his loyalty and conviction. I love that he choses love (platonic or otherwise) over duty. (The show did him dirty in the end.)

Spock - He was one of the first characters I found myself relating to as a kid, watching reruns of TOS. He's so autism coded that he's always been a go-to character to describe myself. Logical to the point of denying his emotions. Because emotions are confusing and scary tbh. 🤷

My partner has great taste in fictional people. Now let me have a crack at it.
