The USA isn't alone in its policies towards women, but it is currently leading on rescinding rights once recognized as due.

Since 2016, women have seen a trend in the USA that made it a less healthy place to live. They saw the character of federal office holders fall to scandalous levels from the top down. The agenda is oppressive to women and the history of past positions looks possible to become enacted under MAGA.

The peaks were in 2018, 2022, and the highest peak in 2024. https://news.gallup.com/poll/697382/record-numbers-younger-women-leave.aspx In 2016, women saw the character of the GOP nominee in the much publicized Access Hollywood bus interview which caught Trump bragging on walking through dressing rooms of teenage beauty contestants and grabbing women by their pu$$ie$. Then he won the election. The consequences of his election were very obvious by 2018... the first peak in the prior graph. The political agenda of forced births in a country with: ♦ No universal healthcare ♦ No universal childcare ♦ No paid family & medical leave ♦ One of the highest rates of maternal mortality among rich nations Shows an agenda not about "life" but about controlling women. Note that the image gave only a partial list, since the attacks are also about accessibility of birth control options and abortion. More and more women know and recognize the control being sought over their lives is endemic in the party that now has control of all 3 branches of government. The Republican party has been against their rights repeatedly. In: ♦ 1972 against birth control access to single women ♦ 1975 against the Equal Credit Act that allowed women to apply for credit cards and mortgages without needing a man to co-sign. ♦ 1978 against the Pregnancy Act which prohibits employers from firing a pregnant woman. ♦ 1980 Against allowing women to report sexual harassment in the workplace. ♦ 1994 & 2012 they voted against the Violence Against Women Act ♦ 2012 Against the Equal Pay for Equal Work for Women Act. The Federal and State Anti-abortion measures and changes in the Supreme Court since 2012 have been more regressive and dramatic.
