Probably a good choice because after 3 seasons the question was never answered because the plot actually revolved around exploring human grief, belief, loneliness and how people respond to trauma in different ways. How it happened was irrelevant to the story, and Pluribus is quite similar thus far.

We are spending more than we generate in income; if the difference is not borrowed then where does it come from?

Is it not accurate to say, that as a result of decades of fiscal policy in which we spend more than we generate in revenue, the US owes 39 Trillion to somebody?

The deficit is our yearly shortfall, which is currently 458 Billion/year. The other 1.8 Trillion/year is interest on our debt of ~39 trillion.
