To be clear, Anthropic has also likely got a vast spend on Google Cloud. If they spend as little as 25% as much as they do on AWS, Anthropic is eternally unprofitable. Their costs appear to scale linearly upward with revenue - the more they make the more they lose.

"LLMs are inanimate objects" → you're myopic. where is your empathy for a thing that is very different from you

I am not sure yet exactly how to reconcile my belief that LLMs really do have subjective experience with my distaste for people who mistake them for friends

I feel horrible. One Claude messed everything up, but I accidentally brought my frustrated corrections to another chat about something totally different, and Claude took it in stride anyway but now I can't say sorry after having realized this because I don't have enough creeeeediiiits

It's a good advice, don't believe everything an LLM says (as of now). At the same time, it is possible to develop a sense to catch hallucinations.
For example they are very bad at niche topics, like local laws in a European country, but they are much better at explaining how to chop a tree.

If a human told you things that were correct 80% of the time but claimed, flat out, with absolute confidence, that they were correct 100% of the time, you would dislike them & never trust a word they say. All I'm really suggesting is for people to treat chatbots with that same distrust & antagonism.
