A major setback for Indigenous rights in Brazil: Last night the Senate approved the "Marco Temporal" rule within THE CONSTITUTION - a law that could erase ancestral lands and fuel more violence and deforestation. Indigenous peoples warned: this is a threat to their survival. It means the extreme right gave themselves the right to take Indigenous lands away if they weren't occupied in 1988, ignoring centuries of forced displacement.
