Not trying at all to “win” here. Like most engagements online this certainly isn’t a zero sum situation. Just supporting your basic point in my own way, offering an atypical view intended to expand the potential political coalition by “expanding the scope of conflict” per one PoliSci guy. Deuces. ✌🏾

Rent? Multiple meanings, even if we use just one of them. Monthly checks I cut to my bank to one day if I live long enough & keep my income bring my rent-to-own arrangement w it to an end. Only on paid in full will my bank convey “my” property to me. Core action the same even as vehicle etc isn’t.

Rent has many definitions, I know. One of them, per @merriam-webster.com, is “a usually fixed periodical return made by a tenant or occupant of property to the owner for the possession and use thereof.” Sounds like a mortgage to me!

I can’t. They were new red potatoes I cut into quarters. Just too small to salvage, other than in an egg hash for breakfast for me.
