Independent. Orphaned (parents died trying to earn a cross-country beat for The Atlantic - no grudge). Godparents pushed a PhD (again, no grudge). Widow of virtuous/scholarly country minister (little grudge, God).

When a coyote wanders off from its pack, never forget its true nature.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I do support him and his administration ... his remarks of course have been hurtful ... unfortunately it has all come down to the Epstein files ... I will continue to do my small part to get the files released."

Poor Monica, having to see all of these jokes again.

Yes, I have been dared to lick the Liberty Bell. No, I will not post the pictures. And that is faith.

The church's Board preached fiscal responsibility, and not once would I expect it to go unbothered by knowing it would still have to give backpay to idle workers. Also, even the Board would never have been so heartless to make our workers need backpay in the first place.

Just returning home from the rapture (no judgment if you weren't there). Pretty run-of-the-mill requirements: haven't tried to deport Jesus or send him to a concentration camp; not worshipping a false idol who brags about breaking all ten commandments; no threatening comedians. You know, the basics.

For all of the times that someone has correctly guessed the number of gumdrops in a jar (and the many more incorrect guesses), I've found no other way to decide whether someone is correct or not than to afford everyone the due process of counting the gumdrops.

If one of my cygnets were lost and began living among ducks (and ducklings) that constantly called swans a mentally unstable sin against God and treated the cygnet in kind, I'd first blame whoever gave the cygnet a gun, but I definitely wouldn't double-down on anti-swan hate speech.

After a certain time passes until transparently investigating predators, it stops being justice and becomes PR cleanup.

Firing the adult in the room is one strategy, but the chaos usually has children running around spreading (instead of curing) viruses to one another.

I could never stand when the board members with the least common sense sat together where the voting began. Whether intended or not, everyone falling in line to avoid being the first "nay" led to putting off too many needed repairs.

Congrats, Catelin Drey, on breaking Iowa's supermajority!

As a fellow planner (who also plans much less than Taylor), I am both excited and terrified to see the one day that Taylor Swift has planned and built for her entire life. And she and Travis Kelce can call on unlimited resources to show all of the love in the world.
🚨| CNN is reporting the engagement of Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce.

Leviticus: Love thy neighbor

Matthew, Mark, Luke: Love thy neighbor

Quran: Love thy neighbor

MANY, MANY non-Abrahamic followings: Love thy neighbor

And the ALMIGHTY asks all of the MANY, MANY children of Abraham--the entire world, really--through the humble Advocate: "DID I STUTTER????"

Should we put the Fed in reality television terms? They all have immunity because they were hired for being well-qualified, reliable, and the least likely to be fired for cause. Like economic stability, it's not meant to have great viewership.

If land ownership is based on "historical and religious" significance now, can we give Mauna Kea back to Native Hawaiians? At least the Black Hills (including Mt. Rushmore) back to the Lakota? Maybe Onondaga Lake back to the Haudenosaunee Confederacy? Or is the standard based on something else?

Although I'm not crazy about the (possibly) carcinogenic effects from aspartame, that's only a tiny sliver of why I don't want Diet Fascism as a replacement for Fascism Classic.

The Minister's teachings (both before and after my footnotes and annotations) were certainly guidance for people to make wise decisions, but all people needing different guidance under different circumstances and interpreting it all differently, we would have never made the church a political party.

Now that we have a signature to wrangle the overreach instead of the innocent, maybe we could also remember the stranger to be welcomed in, the hungry to be fed, the sick to be made well. I would add an overall prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment, but the Bill of Rights already tried that.

Peace was never overthrown by trimming a sign; the only unforgivable vulgarity in such redesign is demanding that others fear it. And calling a barrel "woke"? I've never met a sleeping person who's afraid of being awake (or a barrel). Usually, it's the other way around.

"Good moral character," the Minister said, is proven by deeds between the you, God, and occasionally someone surveying the room with their coffee (not necessarily realizing that it's a "good" deed). It's certainly not pronounced by clerks with skeletons in their closets. Lead by example, maybe?

We really must put governance by and for the People above all else; most importantly, we should put it above governance by geometry.

Grudges age so poorly, often souring in a cellar and eating the label off of your best wine or, in some cases, the constitution off of your best nation.

As people are still coming to realize the pains of recent Congressional actions (Ms. Miller just learned today that any of them had shown up for work in months), it feels appropriate to remind everyone that beauty at 300 pages, 3,000 pages, or anywhere in between hides clauses that eat your lunch.
