Now a base EasyJet fare only gets you the space under the seat in front!
But also risk of losing luggage must be an incentive to fit everything in carry-on.
Train is much more civilised - but I've heard even Eurostar are trying to ration free luggage allowance soon.

Wasn't it when Ryanair started charging for anything that cost them money, like baggage handler wages? At that point, for a saving of £60 many decided to squeeze as much as they could in the overhead locker, so the no frills airlines started charging for overhead locker space too!

I just looked at their profile and actually it does look real - more than @ealingcouncil.bsky.social for example, to the extent that they could be reported for fraud if it turned out not to be the actual Bank of England!
How did Twitter users verify themselves before blue ticks?

Surely the real Bank Of England would have registered bsky.app/profile/bankofengland.co.uk by now?

I always assume that these accounts with "bsky.social" handles were set up by squatters or imposters. They have a trusted group of followers, but they all rushed in in the early days of Bluesky and reassured themselves that that was enough proof of identity.

I get around the UK's plastic bag charge by bringing my own reusable bags to the supermarket. Sticking it to the wokerati one shop at a time!

Do these people look at a map when they book the venues?

At one point I heard a little five year old say "I just want to go home because I'm soaking wet and fed up" and I wanted to cry because I suddenly felt seen

2) They will pass the issue onto their development team to actually provide a means to say "I can't start this ride, let me end it here, YES I KNOW I'M NOT IN A DESIGNATED PARKING AREA"
October 26, 2025 at 4:43 PM
1) They will acknowledge the problem and say the ride has been refunded, meaning that whenever this happens, a user needs to look up how to contact them, spend time writing a complaint and wait for them not to permanently fix the issue. or:

I didn't want to have a big argument, but Lime doesn't allow you to end a ride in a non-designated area, which meant I was on the hook for any fees while the bike wasn't in my possession. I've sent a second complaint to Lime about this scenario. "Like" the post which contains your predicted outcome.

Twice now I have tried to rent a bike which happens to be in a non-designated parking location (I feel I'm doing them a favour by moving it?) but then found the bike inoperable. First time the saddle couldn't be raised. Second time I got into an argument with a drug addict who claimed it was his.

Why are neither of them on Bluesky, btw!

I'd like to offer this one, where someone catalogued the entire lyrics of "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel, and linked each referenced event to the relevant Wikipedia article (you have to scroll quite far down the article):

Not everyone realises that the area name is still encoded in many area codes - see this Wikipedia page. Eg. "Grimsby" is 01472 and if you look at a keypad with letters, 47 is GR.
