What a nerd. Urmston.
I'm clearly having a post-mid-life crisis.

A stone ornament, from a church, sort of *into* his head rather than on it. I'd post a clip, but it's a bit gruesome. As well as being quite funny.

Lucky indeed if you've ever seen Adam Buxton's death in Hot Fuzz...

Ah man, I really want an After Eight now. And I'm not even in an Indian restaurant.

Yes! I've had this conversation at a few Grimsby matches in the past - passion is great, but if losing is making you scream abuse at your own team's players, you don't understand the concept of sport, and should start following something more predictable for your own mental well-being. And mine.

...and in the nearby pool which is full of fallen columns and fed by geothermal springs - it was like swimming in hot perrier.

Ooh, is that Pamukkale? Had a fantastic day there at the end of 6 months backpacking, nearly 40(!) years ago

Oh, that childish bullshit does my fecking head right in. That, and the time spent thinking of 'clever' snarky comments to fire at each other.
Every time i hear bits of PMQs, I'm thinking, "We pay your wages! Stop bickering and do what you're paid to do, you pricks."

That was such a depressing defeat. That batting collapse of 3 for 0 (amid 5 for 20-odd) seemed utterly avoidable. And to then see Head going 'BAM! Look, this is how you do it' just ground my enjoyment into the dirt. Sigh. Good job it's only sport, and as such, inconsequential.

That would only work logically if they were living at the same address as the person they were singing to. A spouse, perhaps. Ooh, except both of them were singing. This song is getting more complicated by the minute.

...though I'm sure it's not your first rodeo - I have a feeling you've previously been in dungarees.

Voice of experience: don't leave toilet trips to the last minute.

One of the most joyous matches I've watched in ages. I think I exclaimed something similar twice in injury time.

I've been fortunate to have done some engineering work there over the past few years, which has allowed me to wander round the old restaurant and on the roof. Very run down now, of course, but echoes of fabulous.

Scotland match?
November 18, 2025 at 10:22 PM
I can't bear it. And I've come across so many people who are lazily just believing everything it barfs up, with zero critical thinking to check it.
They may as well wander into the nearest pub and ask the first bloke they see at the bar. I mean, some of his answers will be right too...
