Centrist politically, hate extremes. Love dogs, especially leonbergers and travel (been to over 75 countries)
Once poll by poll results up will you be updating ridingbuilder.ca to give results by municipality and census divisions? That would be interesting to see shifts and map

I think it comes down to history. Canada is a smaller country that is seen threatened by bigger gives left upper hand. Patriotism in Canada is being not American, not less immigrants or leaving EU like UK patriots push.

Always has been. Many go on idea right most patriotic as that is case in US and also many other countries. But in Canada its mostly on left as patriotism is about preserving our identity which is progressive.

And he will lose. Carney is soaring in the polls and its just started. PP will lose and base will be seized with four years of civil war.
February 8, 2025 at 1:24 AM
Thank goodness they lost. Like or dislike they are not like the BC Liberals were even though both right wing. BC Conservatives much more extreme and are Maple MAGAs

We may need to ban X during writ period to protect integrity of election

This is what we need for prime minister.

If I were a billionaire I would be thankful of my luck, but still stay true to my values and also help others with less not be sellouts to a Fascist like these guys are.

I am getting one hopefully later this year. Will help get through tough times. Especially as risk my country makes same mistake although we still haven't had our election. Either way great to have such companion

Also Trump promise of gradual increases in tariffs so hit not so sudden probably played a role too. Off course who knows with Trump.

Even Alberta under UCP has one. Notley brought it in but Kenney never repealed it, only the consumer one.
January 15, 2025 at 6:00 AM
I stayed for that reason. Hopefully Musk gets tired of it and sells it so can get a more reasonable owner.
January 15, 2025 at 5:36 AM
And means CPC lost main plank of campaign. I said once Trudeau resigned would. My guess is keeps industrial carbon tax but scraps consumer one.
January 15, 2025 at 5:29 AM
It's why I am positive polls will tighten. Not sure if will lose but no way he gets in high 40s. Even 40% is probably on high side
January 15, 2025 at 5:06 AM
Or just do population exchanges with US and it would be one for one.
January 15, 2025 at 3:08 AM
Absolutely and shocking how well right is doing everywhere. Some people lean a little right which is fine but more reactionary types were in most places on fringe or at least clearly a minority unlike now.
January 15, 2025 at 12:53 AM
I trust science behind polling, but must admit I too find this hard to believe. Anecdotally Trudeau was not well liked, but neither is Poilievre. Guessing since CPC voters firm, undecided will break against them.
January 15, 2025 at 12:30 AM
If and this is big if this materializes likely merge. At same time I don't think CPC will stay at 47%. If had a more reasonable leader possible but Poilievre is very unlikeable and when exposed it will decline. Question is how much.
January 15, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Carney is going to be next PM. Real question is can he beat Poilievre? I think he can. Not saying will but I think there is a chance.
January 15, 2025 at 12:28 AM
I think Carney not only wins leadership race but will close gap quite a bit and may even win next election outright. Won't be easy but definitely plausible.
