Library lady here. Guilty of starting too many books at a time and never finishing my TBR. Happily married and raising four beautiful humans. I like turtles, yoga, and baking cookies. #fREADom #diversebooks #BlackLiteracyMatters #Resist
Support your local bookstores. Support as many local businesses as you can.
Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

OLIVER: “I’d argue @disney & Bob Iger need to stand by @jimmykimmel and his staff — history is also going to remember the cowards who knew better. Giving the bully your lunch money doesn’t make him go away, it just makes him come back hungrier each time.” 🎯

It’s going to take more than some tacky yellow umbrellas for people to forget he still hasn’t released the Epstein files.

If you liked, commented, or posted about Sydney Sweeney today, don’t forget to talk about the Epstein files.

John Stewart is right again. 💯🎯
STEWART: “I feel like I’m watching something so self-evidently inhumane and horrific and to be told I have to shut up because I risk the Jewish state by speaking out? I would say the opposite — they’re putting the likelihood of a surviving Jewish state much more at risk.”

Whatever you do, don’t stop talking about the Epstein files.

If you don’t know George Takei’s story, today is the day to learn it.
When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

Giving up Amazon was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
This feels like a ✨prime✨ week to close the book on Amazon.

Ronald E. McNair. Astronaut and Library Kid. (I wonder if anyone has ever become an astronaut who didn’t start out as a library kid? Seems unlikely.)
Ronald E. McNair: Father, Husband, Physicist, NASA Astronaut, Pioneer in the Field of Lasers (SO COOL).

We tragically lost him in the tragedy of the 1986 Challenger Space Shuttle. He was selected to become part of NASA group 8, the first class that included both women and minorities.

Do audiobooks count as reading? Yes!!I answer this question for kids in the library all the time, but John Green has a much better response here. Audiobooks count. Classroom or bedtime read-aloud count. The benefits of reading with our eyes OR ears are too great to diminish one or the other.
I find Audiobook Discourse somewhat exhausting, but I nonetheless decided to weigh in on it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=80SC...
