Our new study surprised us:

Passing through green/blue spaces didn’t immediately boost happiness or reduce stress.

But walking, running, and cycling did improve momentary wellbeing, even without greener routes.

UK-based study, so context matters.

We tracked 587 workers and found that trip-level walkability and transit access matter much more for CO₂ emissions than home or work location alone.
