Also, they are REMARKABLY stable because they stand on four legs. I've had tables get bumped and rounded bottom mugs knock over, and these guys rattle a little but remain standing.

Just like a normal cup.
I wasn't sure they'd work either, but the jaws are separate from the cup, so it works.
The top jaw will touch your cheek, but it acts more as a stabilizing feature than an impediment, weirdly enough.
