“A Minecraft Movie” was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. “Why does my beard smell like Gorgonzola?” and “People always sue me when I hit them with my Jeep Grand Cherokee” are great one-liners, and there were so many more. Salt sack; Full Man Sandwich; He’s Swedish.

@theharvardcrimson.bsky.social I agree with this sentiment and wish someone told me the same back in 1995/6. One of my roommates was a genius who would roll out of bed at 1230 and convince me to skip Physics to go to Annenberg for lunch. No attendance being taken back in the day. Good times.

“Dear Santa” was a funny movie, but wasn’t really a Christmas movie. It needed Christmas for the setup/joke, but that’s it. “Gremlins”, on the other hand, definitely didn’t need Christmas for the setup, but is greatly enhanced by it. The should make a “Gremlins 3” where Gizmo becomes a Gremlin.

Dune Part 2 demonstrated Denis Villeneuve’s complete misunderstanding of the story, and the three key women in it. There’s no way Dune Part 3 can happen from here. Also, Madame Web was pretty good. Follow me for more hot movie takes.
