Enjoying being in the spritely/youthful demographic of this Michael Rother gig.

Water Damage, a highlight of Supersonic, even better at Oto tonight! Also, broke the abstinence & had 3 pints :-/

First time not drinking at a festival (Supersonic) and not staying until silly hours at the afterparty & I have to say that feeling this fresh on a Monday is something I could/should get used to… Other benefits: no time lost queuing at the bar or getting annoyed when they run out of beer…

Utterly nonplussed by Feel The Sound exhibition at the Barbican. Like, hey, did you know sound is actually vibrations??!🤯🤪? Here is a thing to stand on to prove it and now some projections on sheets in a car park. Plus commits classic error of multiple sound exhibits playing in the same space.

Had my mammoths satisfactorily grinded by Mammoth Grinder at the New Cross Inn tonight. Old School Death Metal, by their own admission. 30 minute set, Venom cover encore. Wonderful. Bass player rocking the Derek Smalls/William Murderface look admirably.

First time at Soho Theatre Walthamstow, to see Patti Harrison + pals (Inc Ayo Edebiri!!) being v funny on a wizarding theme… Beautifully restored theatre, but c’mon no central line array? Sound was iffy all night, seems like a pretty big oversight.

Having experienced some truly dreadful stadium rock sound last week, I’m mightily impressed by how clear & powerful the PA at Finsbury Park is. All d&b, I noticed, which can’t hurt… #Slayer

Back sorting through my old childhood stuff again & have uncovered this vital survey from when I was… 8? I believe I instigated the poll, expecting He-Man to do better (it got my solitary vote) & was devastated by the outcome.

TMNT II: The Secret of the Ouse. Stopped by one of my favourite spots on Earth, capitalising on the weather being “quite nice”. Thought maybe I might catch a glimpse of Kristin Hersh off to soundcheck at the Cluny, but this has not happened.

Any pals want to see Kyoshi Kurosawa's new one, Cloud, at the Prince Charles Cinema tonight? I've 2x tickets I can't use any more, due to still being abroad and all (I actually saw it last week instead - it is v good!)

Very much enjoyed that new* Rachel Zegler film that’s out, it’s a hoot! I am of course referring to Kyle Mooney’s Y2K, what else could I have meant…?

(*-ly released in the UK, on very few screens and which will probably have disappeared everywhere by tomorrow)

Visiting parents with the specific goal of helping clear out all my old stuff from the loft, but yeah that might be an impossible task. Behold this impeccable 80s childhood!
