It's faster to just read the sequel since it'll just recap anything important

I of course jest: elite Britain is having a hell of a time with anything that challenges a rigid notion of gender.

Hey, I know about another guy who symbolically invalidated everything in the OT

Also how I'd save-scum choose-your-own-adventure books

Okay, but if it *does* have to be explained: vampire. Oh, you saw him in daylight? You don't think Q has a solution for that?

"Yes, I know you're a woman, and James is an unusual name for a woman. Why is that a big deal? You murder people for the state. Moving on, let's talk about how you'll be doing that..."

Ah, yeah, Article 1 Section 5 is interpreted as giving Congress exclusive control over its membership. No, Pennsylvania can't get rid of him until 2028. The Senate writ large can, but lol
November 11, 2025 at 11:54 AM
Yes. I'm just thinking about in aggregate, and more for state level executive positions than federal legislative (actually...can you even recall congressfolk?). *Most* politicians are not bait-and-switch, but most politicians can become easily frightened do-nothings, increasing gridlock.

I have mixed feelings on this. Fetterman has been an awful disappointment, but I think allowing for recalls could have bad effects in a state as purple as Pennsylvania. Constant tit-for-tat votes, leading to politicians playing it very, very safe.

I thought finance alpha at first, but musk’s response feels very incel alpha

I simply remember where I was; lightning fast but the battery backed memory is unreliable

The autosave is pretty good, tho

Spoken like a true DSA person. Just perfect rhetoric, no notes.

These guys look like they’re enjoying themselves. How annoying

Damned Texans. Could’ve been worse, was searching for Stellaris related stuff earlier

I wonder how they would feel about my son who is very white, and has some % of distant English ancestry, and was born here, but is being raised by Americans. I doubt the accent is going to be the deciding factor.
November 10, 2025 at 7:50 PM
And you can see how this is changing even in elite discourse, with Stella Braverman now asserting that Englishness requires an ancestral component. Seems bad, man.
November 10, 2025 at 7:48 PM
In part. I think it’s trying to assert that people of colour (yes autocorrect let’s use the U this time) might be British, as a sort of technicality, but they can never be English. Straightforward racism.

Complicated by many but by no means all PoCs here having a British but not English identity.

If one were to devise a way to refer to these isles and nations that was not offensive to someone, its non-offensiveness would immediately make it suspect
November 10, 2025 at 7:34 PM
Good news: GB has all sorts of weird, inconsistent connotations, too
November 10, 2025 at 7:31 PM
More of the same: scary multi-ethnic urban Britain

I’m precisely the kind of neuroatypical that requires all actionable conversations to be recorded in a way that preserves the chain of custody
