Yeah, that was pretty underwhelming ngl. And definitely not designed for single player. Lot of missions revolving around one player doing something while others are clearly supposed to be defending them, and the damage boost and little drones they give a single player really don't compensate.

Love the bosses so far though. Love the variety and chaotic energy.

Like, why can't I get the chest on that cliff? It's too high, I need the Hookshot.
vs.
Why can't I push the button? It's a Purple Button and you have the Red Kong.

Even the most egregious examples in Zelda games handle this more gracefully.

I'm like 2/3 through DK64 and while I am liking it, it kinda feels like it exemplifies the "lock-and-key" design that people often accuse the Zelda series of relying on. It puts way more emphasis on the color-codedness of the Kongs instead of the differences in their abilities.

Yes, this is pretty in line with what I've read the past 5 years. The vaccines definitely were more effective pre-Omicron. 26.1% effectiveness against infection certainly isn't nothing, it's absolutely not enough to be your only means of protection, especially since effectiveness declines so rapidly

begin and through the first few days (and about half of cases are asymptomatic anyway) so the shorter duration does not tend to reduce transmission.

I never said it was useless, in fact I said I stay up to date with vaccines and encourage everyone to do the same. They do not significantly reduce chance of infection, but you are right in that they DO reduce the duration of the initial disease. However, most transmission occurs before symptoms-

It's more like saying seatbelts do not prevent car crashes. Unfortunately, community transmission is not significantly different between vaccinated and unvaccinated communities. It's why new nasal vaccine candidates in development showing to stop transmission is such a big deal.

I'm not. The vaccines do prevent serious illness and death, this has been proven. I stay up to date with the covid vaccine every year.
But it does not prevent infection or spread. This is why several countries have been working toward more effective nasal vaccines for covid for the last few years.

Update: replaced the gears on my n64 control stick. Controls considerably better now, though I still don't love the way DK controls.

*or prevents infection

Thing is, there is still not currently a vaccine that prevents the spread of covid or prevents long covid.

Also am I the only one who thinks its weird that we talk to the three goddesses for the first time in the series and there's just like...no fanfare? Like, that should be a big deal, right?
