And every player in the HOF who played in the Major Leagues prior to Jackie Robinson's debut should have a boilerplate added to their plaque that reads: "[PLAYER] never played against Josh Gibson, the greatest ballplayer of all time."

Barry Bonds, A-Rod, Roger Clemens and nearly a dozen other 90s-era players should be in the HOF, and the last line of their plaques should read: "[PLAYER] played during the so-called Steroid Era and was credibly believed to use performance-enhancing drugs throughout his career."

Joe Jackson should be in the HOF, and the last line of his plaque should read: "Despite hitting .375, committing no errors, and hitting the only home run of the 1919 World Series, Jackson took money from mobsters who bribed players to fix the Series. He was banned for life by the commissioner."

Elevating someone to serve as Senate Majority Leader who has fought so hard against core Democratic values undercuts the state Party's ability to stand up against Trump's agenda and its continuing efforts to normalize the demonization of vulnerable communities.
