I don’t know, if someone tells me that they don’t think what I do has value and are working to make sure that I’m replaced by a machine / unable to make a living from my art again, I’m not going to be out there championing the world they want to create and defending it as just as good as me.

I just don’t understand why there’s always these circular debates when the tech people are very open about their goal being to replace the human element in art. Except as “prompt engineers” who exist to service the technology itself. What is the point of defending that vision of the world?

I think it’s telling that rather than funding a world that allows more people to be able to make art, the goal of the tech overlords is to plagiarize the history of the arts to get rid of human makers and technique while concentrating more wealth into the hands of a few. I don’t know how that’s good

They are humans and human labor as a fundamental problem to their goals — making money. And everything they create is either built on exploiting humans in more extreme ways or doing away with human labor completely. The most essential effect of AI is giving cover for companies to fire workers.

Been going back and forth on this one with my son. That first trailer for F1 looked like it was gonna be super intense. The last couple trailers have made it look kinda like a run of the mill Dad rotation movie.
