Any Hams near Sherwood Forest Centre Parcs willing to listen out for a CQ for a new ham with Mic Fright? I've just got my @arissintl.bsky.social award for receiving SSTV from ISS and it's got me more determined to start using my radio for more than listening? - M7HIF (I arrive tomorrow)

How life has changed. Not too long ago, I was just restarting work after a 30 minute break for the New Year. Now, I've listened to the bongs of Big Ben, I'm upstairs with my radio tuned in for the next passing of the ISS, hoping to start the year with a clear image.

I'm experimenting with receiving SSTV images from @arissintl.bsky.social
The quality received last night wasn't the strongest I've had , but I weirdly like the look of the distortions. It'd be nice to pick up a whole undisturbed image though! This is number 5, 6, and 7 over the last couple of days

Used my CRT Micron UV to pick up SSTV transmissions from the ISS in the early hours of the morning. Quality of the decoded images wasn't great. I still did an excited little dance. First SSTV I've ever received. #hamradio #amateurradio
