It's now been over a year since the last opinion poll showed over 50% of the Scottish population supporting the continuation of the political union, the UK, when 'Don't knows', are counted.
On the other hand, there have been two polls showing more than 50% for independence, in between then and now.

I was walking through the town centre yesterday, at 2pm, and it was practically empty.
It's been a couple of years since I've been to any town/city centre, during the afternoon, is this how things are now in Scotland? I'm sure it used to be much busier in the afternoons.

2014 support for the union = 55%
Support in 2024 (average based on 12 months of polling) 46%
in 2013, the last non-election year pre-ref Yougov had the union at 20-30% above indy.

The polls don't count, when they don't like what they're saying. So I'm told. Yet for months before the election, the unionists were laughing at pro-indy folk, telling us independence was over.

If every single person in Scotland doesn't do X, when the majority of people in England did do X, then it's not Scotland's fault.

Excluding these 'don’t knows' and rounding to the nearest whole number, Scots would back independence by 52% to 48% (the dreaded ratio).
