Yes, Ford could be the first premier to buck the rule and survive after a federal win.

Why?

Bc the main opposition parties are so utterly weak and useless. They're so dysfunctional they've failed to dent the Premier's support while running the most corrupt and incompetent govt in Canadian history.

Ford is correctly applying the sacred political law of Ontario: never follow a win by your federal cousins avoid at all costs you'll lose.

But I think it would be such a cynical naked power grab Ontarians will be angry.

Sticking to the timeline Ontarians expect Ford has a better shot at winning

FYI to clarify why a blue landslide could wipe out the NDP: many if not most the NDP's popular support swings orange-blue or blue-orange.

A huge number of the NDP's base is orange-blue not orange-red like one would assume.

Jagmeet will lose this election badly no matter what he does.

The NDP's only hope is a new leader. That means appointing rather than electing a leader bc of the time constraints.

There's no indication the NDP higher ups grasp that this political crisis is their crisis too.
