So Nazism is merely "controversial" now?

As a person who would definitely be among the first to be condemned to "relocation" never to be seen again, I find that rather distressing.

I just voted!

I rendered my verdict.

I find the Ford Government GUILTY of:
EXTREME CORRUPTION
EXTREME INCOMPETENCE
REPEATED LYING
DERILICTION OF DUTY CAUSING DEATHS
SEVERE CRUELTY AGAINST THE MOST VULNERABLE

As such I voted to fire Doug Ford and elect #TeamBonnie!

These are the stars in the sky above us right now.

Never ending.

It feels like a metropolis of stars. The opposite of lonely. So much life?

Until you think about interstellar travel and light speed.

*We can't ever talk to them or visit.*

We're alone even if we're not.

So I literally got frostbite to take this long exposure picture.

🤣

It's a beautiful starry night.

This is looking south facing the Winter side of the Milky Way, which is the dimmer outer parts of our galaxy.

Happy Inauguration Day, Americans.

Long Live Canada and her freedom. 🇨🇦

Just got word from our neighbour that a giant Hawk or Eagle was bathing in the pond yesterday!

It was drinking water, bathing AND leisurely sitting on the bench!

It even posed for the cameras! People stopped in their cars to take pictures! And I missed the whole thing! 🤣

And just like that, it came and was gone in just 20 minutes, Mother Nature decides to change our world with a Lake Effect snow squal.

Yay let there be snow!

This is what our winter pond looks like.

That corner is managing to stay ice-less even on the surface as long as pumps are running.

Local wildlife are very happy, foxes and birds are using it for drinking water.

We'll probably be iced over until February.

Today should be about thanking Justin Trudeau for his service to the nation.

He steered the ship well. He made good calls and appointed good people.

He showed us that crying is okay from men, so are hugs. That was an impt cultural moment.

The current popular mood is unfair & undeserved.

I don't know the answer.

I'm asking.

It's a logic problem that confounds and confuses me so I was hoping someone knows the answer.

To clarify: I don't mean dimming.

I mean things that happen in the region of the star as a consequence of or AFTER the Supernova happening.
January 3, 2025 at 5:06 PM
This was Betelgeuse [pronounced "Beetlejuice" by some] last night from my telescope.

QUESTION:

Hypothetically, if Betelgeuse has already gone Supernova bc we see it on Earth 642 years in the past, will evidence of the explosion be visible to us BEFORE the explosion is?

Seven Sisters Star Cluster from my telescope last night.

Baby stars clustered together in what basically is a nursery.

Our Sun and all existence on Earth as we know it originates from something like Seven Sisters.

When you see it you are looking at Creation itself or Genesis.

Our closest distance with Mars will be on January 15th which is called "Opposition", the point at which Earth is between the Sun and another celestial object.
January 1, 2025 at 3:13 PM
This was Mars from my telescope yesterday.

Normally bc Mars is so small, smaller than Earth, it's only visible as a tiny dot even thru a Barlow Lens.

Right now Mars appears as a planet looking object bc we are nearing our closest distance which only happens once every two years.

Bravo to the beautiful people, and sled dogs, of Churchill Manitoba. They participated in a BBC doc on Churchill which is a stunningly beautiful portrait of the town that leaves you in tears. That's how moving they were to this BBC reporter.

Just watched it I'll post some clips.

I want to profusely thank the caretakers at Carruthers Creek Public School for using pet friendly anti-icing!

My dog Tia is grateful.

This is the first time I've noticed a public institution using animal friendly anti-icing on sidewalks.

It is so enjoyable and exciting watching people who are using a telescope for the first time and discovering huge things in space.

Her reaction was exactly how I reacted to Jupiter.

The sense of wonder when you learn the dots are Galilean moons is overwhelming and life changing.
