Still waiting for the Great Leap Forward. Music is my main love. Well music, food, the dog, photography, whisky….did I mention food?
One of my favourite albums. Not sure if I prefer the Boxed mix to the original. I need to get one of those smart cleaners and tackle my back catalogue though!!!

Oddly I was playing this just earlier, it’s a cracking record…here’s an interesting article on the history of *that* rhythm..I was obsessed with Ring the Alarm for a while in the 80s, I have a 12” somewhere of it I picked up in Smelly Alley in years gone by.

Newly reissued to mark its 40th birthday, ‘Ring The Alarm’ continues to rattle speaker boxers. Wrongtom charts the history of its Stalag rhythm, from overlooked origins in the early 1970s to Tenor Saw’s 1985 masterpiece and beyond

I stumbled across this and thought of you…it’s basically a cover version of Paranoid but with the lyrics changed to tell the story of Hound of the Baskervilles. Warning: video contains scary dog…🤣

This current round is highlighting a mountain of stuff I missed when I was head down in bringing up kids. This one for instance, will make sure I go and check it out!

‘Twerps’. That’s a great word that I haven’t seen used for a while! I saw him last year and really enjoyed it, not sure I met a twerp though, sorry 😀

Is this a second series Blu ray launch?
November 7, 2025 at 12:20 PM
I was put off because I assumed you needed a smart UHD Blu ray player and a big atmos system. Maybe I should give them a try!

A quick liver tickler?
November 6, 2025 at 6:30 PM
I remember doing that with friends on a patch of waste ground every year. They always lit it early though!

I’ve never heard this album but have always loved the cover

I had that poster on my wall…alongside Tom Baker and Jaws*. Loved this version of King Kong though haven’t seen it for many many years.

*Wasn’t long before they came down and up went Debbie Harry…

I sympathise totally. When I was job hunting recently I saw that LinkedIn had gone the way of other social media, with a lot of non work related posts, and stuff from the ‘incite hatred’ playbook (‘Muslim lady complained about my English flag’ type stuff). I had to step away from it for a while.

That’s a lovely and very evocative photo

It’s probably a case of ‘least worst’. I’ve always used Apple Music, and the latest version of iOS has the facility to move a playlist into Apple Music without any tedious re typing. I’ve never looked at the alternatives like Qobuz or Tidal, they may have better approaches for paying artists.
