Everything Environmental and other random stuff
@mikeeco.bsky.social
Ecology and policy nerd here to spread environmental knowledge! Really enjoy posting about government activity, laws, and regulations; threatened and endangered species; freshwater mussels; wetlands; and New Jersey!
Everyone should send their comments on the proposed rule change at the link. This is one of the places to express why you think habitat modification or degradation should be included in the definition of harm or any other thoughts. I hope social media does its thing and spreads the word!

Numbers for calculations above were sourced from US population totals (google) and voting numbers at the link. #environment #Trump #vote #America #voting

Approximately 31.6% of eligible voters voted for Trump. Approximately 22.7% of the entire 2024 U.S. population (all age groups) voted for Trump. The people don’t want him. The problem is our voting system doesn’t pick the option most folks actually want! Ranked choice is better…

These will have far reaching and very real adverse implications towards the conservation of our environment and people.

- Declaring a National energy emergency and allowing laws such as the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act (ESA), and others to be watered down or essentially be avoided during project reviews. The ESA committee (aka god squad) was mentioned! Decisions to let species go extinct might happen!
