Year 10 at UTampa starts off with the newest addition to the money wall: 10 Swiss Francs. Also, one of my classrooms has a snack bar and Kuerig machine. Looking forward to a great semester!

A couple of days to relax before classes start next week. It's going to be a tough semester teaching how the economy works on Earth 1 compared to whatever we're living in now.

Anyone making predictions on next BLS Commissioner? Why do I feel like we're going to be saying "Bawitdaba and Labor Statistics"?

I'm not sure which was more satisfying...the horns honking in support, the few people giving the middle finger, or those at the stoplight avoiding eye contact. The latter may have been uninformed of what is happening in this country. So, hopefully, they'll go home and find out why we were there.

RateMyProfessor is the best if you treat it as a joke. "We get it, you're educated in economics..., but can we get to the class?"

Seeing a lot of people praising the Hyundai steel mill plant deal claiming "tariffs work" and "Yay! American jobs." Just a back-of-the-envelope calculation, but this might be one of the most expensive "job-creating" tariffs on history.

You don't always have to punish someone. Sometimes, just letting them know they did something wrong and giving them the opportunity to correct it is enough. Let's hope

When someone rails against "entitlement spending," please note that they are using the wrong definition of the word. People who pay into an insurance program are "entitled" to receive the benefits of that program. They do not believe they are deserving of special treatment.

You mean this terrible economy? Which way are they planning on turning it? Seems like we were already heading in the right direction. But, who cares what the data say, right?
