Finally. Thank you for speaking this truth. I feel like a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Fantastic. Yes, please. I’ll come and collect on Monday if that’s ok.

Great. Now I have to look up who Frank Booth is, and then feel bad that I didn’t know beforehand. Thanks a lot.

I frequently resent my own interest in learning new things.

14. Maybe I’ve got this wrong. I hope I have.

If I were a cynic, I’d say NSAndI are making quite a bit of interest on the unpaid prizes of a bunch of 16 year olds.

13. Then - and only then - will the prizes that have been won AND NOT BEEN PAID YET (because the child hasn’t set up a bank account) be released.

At no point is there an option to wait until the child is an adult before forcing them do this.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
12. Using their new online account, the child can specify the bank account they want to use. Which may well still be their parents’ bank account because - in case we had forgotten - these are children.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
10. And, as also noted above, neither do the parents. Who then phone the helpdesk to be told they can just write “unknown” in that box.
11. Assuming all this is achieved, then NSandI will somehow have prevented money laundering (apparently) and the child can have an online account.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
8. Child then has to take this documentation, purchase an envelope, address it to NSandI in Sunderland - also not mentioned in the letter - and return it.
9. Except the form asks for details of their account. Which, as noted above, they don’t have.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
6. As such, 16 year old who, let’s not forget, is still a child, has to venture out and find an adult - any adult, and ask them to witness their “signature”
7. Witness then has to add a covering letter with precise wording and details of their occupation. This is not mentioned in the letter.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
4. Online access request form is a paper form to be downloaded, printed, completed, signed, witnessed and returned.
5. Witness has to be over 18 and a non family member and observe the signing of the form.
April 13, 2025 at 9:35 AM
2. Parent goes online to find all details of 16 year old account have been removed. Because the child owns the own account now so they’re not allowed to see it.
3. In order to access the account they now own, the 16 year old has to register for online access.
