In my view, we are living through a form of mass trauma right now. It reminds me of what it felt like when we watched the West repeatedly commit war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan on television. Warmongers and psychopaths feel safe to unmask and bystanders look on in horror.
Have been sick and off the socials:news. Come back to find:
Opposing a genocide is ‘the new hate’
Opposing a genocide still losing good people jobs and work
Media describing police aiming and firing at a journalist ‘caught in the crossfire’
Beyond fucked

Today I learned, Justice is not blind, Justice was blinded and we decided to call this "impartiality".

Bob Brown in @thesaturdaypaper.com.au accurately diagnosing the current cultural shock, trauma and malaise:

"The selfish urges of the nation’s collective subconscious relegated the reasonable thinking of its collective conscience. Carl Jung would have called this a psychic epidemic."

Does anyone else think we're at the part of the movie where the great technologically advanced empire creates a form of AI that encourages people to use it to help solve their daily problems; yet it's utterly obvious the data will be used to identify the greatest threats to the empire?

It's important at a time like this to remember the data from the highly unethical Milgram experiments do not support a conclusion that a majority of subjects blindly followed authority. Many were deeply suspicious and many that followed instructions believed no-one was being harmed.

Please read @amyremeikis.bsky.social and note in your mind the journalists who told you at the time what was actually happening when corporate owned media will repeat the sins of the past and normalize mass insanity and clear and present genocidal intent.

It's terrifying watching the press re-enact the scene of the cowardly fourth estate as fascism takes hold. #PatternRecognition folks are reliving history right now and we're terrified because we know where this direction leads.

Is 2025 the year markets realize climate destroying sources of electricity have not been properly priced? Are we going to find out that ubiquitous 'free' energy intensive AI incentivized to make oil-war-tech oligarchs richer is not path to a 'last great leap forward' to a techno-utopia?

I think that if your smart or neurodivergent enough to be able to fully empathize and cognitively appreciate a gender different from your own, you understand how the social enforcement of gender has always been a function of power, autonomy, control and division of resources.

Deliberately killing civilians is morally wrong.
Deliberately killing civilians to provoke social change is terrorism.
Deliberately bombing civilians, starving civilians and cutting electricity to the hospital attempting to treat wounded civilians is morally wrong and are acts of terrorism.

We have trained generations of men to be bystanders to inconceivable moral harms including violence against women and children. We can add to that long list the harm of failing to intervene and save women's lives.

Why? Because male is the default and we don't actively teach how harmful this is.
