Young adults now deserve the same safety we offered when they were figuring things out. We were the ones who told them it was safe to establish whatever life they choose. That support must continue, even after their lives are settled, or the "better experience" they had will end w/a rude awakening.

I'm just nervous that we told kids for the last 15 years it's "ok to be you". Most didn't grow up with the same level of vigilance we did & they haven't seen the same levels of uncontested, rage filled queer hate in their time period. We must create the kinds of supports RFKjr and HHS seek to end.

We found reason to celebrate together upon milestones that we collectively equated to "times changing". But now, as we have started to settle-in to feelings of safety & comfort we *did not* grow up with, we look down & find out that the rug has been pulled. & now our armor is weakening. It's scary.

Seeing this thing come back is so scary, and reminds me in many ways of what got us here.

Even still today it sits uncomfortably with me that so many of my peers, some only 6-10yrs older, grew up with *even more* vitrol than I did, because I was impacted so greatly by my own experiences.

You read about the brain worm stuff and the dead bear in Central Park and you were like "I've seen enough, no further questions - endorse this man"?

2025 isn't going to look exactly like we wanted it to, but let's make sure our collective work remembers that cultural progress like this can't be gatekept by national party leaders or conservative billionaires.
