Blue, Blue skies I see
Sonic Racing Crossworlds is the first Sonic game I completed to the ending credits. I didn’t 100% it, but still did all the grand priz tracks.

I have a feeling Sonic adventure 2 will be the next game I complete to the credits.

I wish juniche kanemaru had voiced Sonic in the movies out of sheer curiosity. Would he play Sonic like the games? Or something like Sonic prime?

I can’t even imagine Roger Craig smith playing the Sonic we got on the big screen

Could Sonic x Shadow Generations be considered a mainline Sonic game?

Sega is interesting because even when they were making gaming hardware like the Genesis and Saturn, they were still very much an arcade company first and foremost. I think a lot of people sorta forget about that when retelling their history. Their innovations were inspired of the arcade environment.

Sonic X came out in 2003
Sonic boom came in 2014
Sonic Prime came out in 2022
That means every decade in the last three decades had at least one Sonic series. Every generation of kids had a potential show to latch onto.

At least SEGA tried to save themselves till the end. They put more than 100 percent In everything they did. And they understandably pulled out because of financial duress. Microsoft is just incompetent without the charm, and has the wrong mindset for this industry.

The worst part about caring so much about SEGA’s history, is realizing how often it’s misreported online. You quickly realize just how little proper research the average YouTuber does on the topic. They just repeat the common false narratives without any self awareness.

Whenever I think of the two Sonics on the Sonic Generations box art, I’m reminded that SEGA uses two differently colored logos for Japan and their western branch.

Tom Kalinske’s biggest marketing success was being branded as the savior of SEGA, despite contributing so much to their downfall. It’s truly amazing how much his constant interviewing and a lack of proper context have twisted the truth.

Sonic and Like a Dragon are pretty different franchises. But one random similarity is the creator leaving sega after 15 years. (Well not exactly 15 years, but you understand what I mean)

I'd argue there's a UK narrative in the middle after Atari, it took a different direction in the 80's and that's where a lot of the UK gaming houses emerged from that are now part of the Sony/Xbox world

It’s funny how Sonic is the cool to Mario’s cute when arguably Sonic is cooler AND cuter than his rival.

In retellings, the history of gaming tends to follow the same beats over and over, skipping over certain aspects entirely. Gaming history is very American and console focused. Entire regions and sections of the industry are relegated to basically a footnote in history.
