Florence is both a game scholar and a game developer, and their work on archaeology and game worlds is a must for anybody interested in world building, or the culture of videogames and how to study it.

(If you’re a game developer or game scholar interested in game worlds, this talk is for you)
November 10, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Why should you attend this talk? Florence is one of the most interesting game scholars working on how videogames can be studied as culture, and how to expand the vocabulary we have for analyzing and making games.

John LeCarré used to be mine (mostly in audiobooks). I reread often the short stories of Kafka and Cortázar, comfort brain food.

(If you work at a library, fritidshjem, or equivalent, this talk is for you. What Kevin and others are doing in Barcelona is something we should be paying attention to in Denmark)
November 6, 2025 at 10:24 AM
Why should you attend this talk? Kevin’s project is an amazing example of how we can use videogames in public libraries to create conversations that matter to people. The way Kevin’s project explores game literacy goes beyond the common places on why games are important.

I'm not a game developer, but I have a project about nature, resources, and conversations: ridiculous.software/Naturando/
(needs playtesting) (commisioned as an essay by the Spanish group Arsgames. Essay got out of hand, become something else) (I'm not used to essays needing playtesting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

I think there’s a time threshold (if you survive the first two-three years, yes) and a social one (if you make friends or find a partner). Denmark and Copenhagen are great to live, but they can also be a bit boring compared to other EU capitals

I moved 23 years ago from Spain, have taught many people who moved from other EU countries, have some knowledge and many opinions

I'll say three because I cannot decide: Mano Negra's Casa Babylon (www.youtube.com/watch?v=hunN...), Los Fabulosos Cadillacs' Fabulosos Calavera (www.youtube.com/watch?v=E655...) and Negu Gorriak's Ideia Zabaldu (www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQv7...)
