The 2025 edition of the SDM course marked the 10th anniversary of this event. It was a real pleasure to engage once again with high-level students, postdocs and senior professionals during this immersive seven-day exploration of the geography of species distributions and interactions.

In a recent paper @pnas.org, we found that the world’s oceans sort into six recurring “food-web types” shaped by temperature, productivity, and depth—functionally alike even when the species aren’t.
