Can’t wait to read the rest of the series! I love how good he is at establishing the characters that I never feel lost with time jumps. You intuitively understand how the characters have been behaving so it’s never jarring.

Can’t believe how a book from the 70s feels more transgressive than a lot of modern fare. Characters’ vices are on full display here. Different from movies nowadays where they won’t even show someone smoking

It’s available in English and I read the first chapter. Pretty good translation. Does a great job of capturing the protagonist’s voice.
