"We monitor many frequencies. We listen always. Came a voice, out of the babel of tongues, speaking to us. It played us a mighty dub."

I like books, dogs, music, human rights, history, science, and RPGs. T1D. Neurodivergent.
I'm reserving judgement. It seems decent so far but hasn't exactly enthralled me yet.

As a public figure of note, you get more than your share of the harassment. I'm glad to have one of my favorite game designers as a voice that I can echo.

Would love that.

I mean, I'm gen-x and I don't really lay the blame unilaterally. Given that I feel people from every generation are part of "things right now" I'd say the "blame" lies with individuals making poor choices.

Intentionally restructuring the game and your approach to telling a story (vs an open-style "drive your character around" kind of play) can be very rewarding as it forces a new approach and produces different results.

The authors intentionally crafted the flow of the game to be structured in scenes and stories like a movie or a play. Similarly, Blades in the Dark should be run in its way. This takes a huge amount of effort after decades of D&D-style games where the narrative is driven differently.

It's horrifying that we just lived through the first use of an ICBM in war and it barely hits the news radar.

This makes me profoundly sad. As an adult with ADD, reading is one of the main ways I can let my wandering mind calm down and focus-flow. It also remains the best way to digest complex ideas and enrich my world-view. It can't be a good sign that it's on the decline.
