Alex did not „lose“ his library. It was years of neglect and mismanagement that drove a once very fruitful operation into the ground. They were still doing stone tablets when the rest of the civilized world already used micro-papyrus. Alex simply shat the bed with that one.

Seriously though, the castle sequence is so soul-crushingly dreadful that I wanted to leave the theater and go home. Maybe Nosferatu is the movie that will make you appreciate having a home more than any other.
