Amerika nach Charlie Kirk: Eine fixfertige Serie über Neonazi-Gewalt wird lieber auf unbestimmte Zeit verschoben statt ausgestrahlt.

Nothing to see here, Leute.
Apple has pulled The Savant, its series starring Jessica Chastain’s about hunting down white supremacist cells across America, from its immediate release schedule.

this is the NEW YORK TIMES griping over Sinners having an "enormous" budget. it cost one third of whatever Netflix action pap that literally spends one week in one theater. it just had an amazing opening weekend with guaranteed WOM. WHAT ARE WE DOING www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/b...
‘Sinners’ Is a Box Office Success (With a Big Asterisk)
Ryan Coogler’s original horror film was expected to sell a strong $46 million in tickets over the weekend, enough for No. 1. But its profitability remains a long way off.

@tehlonelyisland.bsky.social Guys please help. Many years ago I watched some version of Hot Rod, that featured a much longer version of the scene where Rod won‘t let Kevin in the house. I remember dying laughing, but current available versions are missing the scene.

Jaws (1975) - Is it really a horror/thriller, as IMDB suggests? A pure thriller, as according to wikipedia? Or isn’t it rather an adventure movie. Because if you’d go off John Williams’ score, I’d strongly argue it’s the latter.

Nosferatu is the feel awful movie of the year. Really captures that hopelessness we’ve all started the new year with. And then zombie-nobleman-fucks it right in the head.

Poor Things is an absolute spectacle. If that one doesn‘t clear all the visual Oscars then I‘ll jump off a bridge and have a baby‘s brain put inside my dead body.

Justine Triet's "Anatomie d'une chute" is a masterclass courtroom drama. FRENCH courtroom. French trials are crazy entertaining. Also: Sandra Hüller is the best working actress right now. Give that woman some Oscars!

„No hard feelings“ starts strong but then tapers off and drags its frail comedy body over the finish line with few jokes. Weird, awkward mix of raunchfest and Gen Z psychotherapy. J Law is great though. Hope she gets to make more of these. And better ones.

The Muppets Christmas Carol is the best Christmas movie ever. Michael Caine should have gotten an Oscar for his performance. Gonzo too.

The first 30 minutes of „Beau is Afraid“ is just Phoenix acting out a day in the life of Woody Allen in 80s NYC.

A24’s Lamb (2021) is atmospheric and all. But the longer you think about it the more it feels like a drawn out joke about sheep fucking.

Kaufman‘s Body Snatchers is usually discussed as the superior version. But I think I prefer Don Siegel‘s adaptation from the 50‘s. I mean, Sutherland is fantastic and the effects are neat. But the movie also drags. I would have preferred some tightening towards the end.

The Holdovers is a good Christmas movie. Sorta fuzzy even. Paul Giamatti is phenomenal. Award this some awards!

May December is one of those movies I needed to google to find out what the title means. What other „Mystery title“ examples are out there?
