I volunteer at a food shelf each week. Demand is overwhelming, and most clients are employed or elderly. The problem is wealthy people’s greed, not the crumbs we give to people in need.

Minneapolis folks: A group of local nonprofit organizations is sponsoring a mayoral candidate forum at my church, Holy Trinity Lutheran, on Sept. 30. Dinner at 5pm, forum at 6pm. Here’s the info.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from me and my Christmas cactus - which makes its own decisions about which holiday to bloom for. (Last year it bloomed on Easter.)
