Every time I get mad at an AI spam call and tell it to fuck off, I think about that article a few years ago admonishing the public for treating AI assistants like Siri badly. Whoever wrote that can also fuck off.

Just figured out my grandfather technically became a Canadian citizen in 2015 when they granted citizenship to first generation Canadians born outside Canada before 1947. His mom was born in Canada, but her parents emigrated the family to New York. He's 93 so this is all academic, but interesting!

How is it possible that a company just emailed me a handwritten PO in the year 2025?
November 18, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Not sure why OP assumes these emails aren't legit, but if they're from do-not-reply@archiveofourown.org they are the real AO3 sending you a password reset. It's not a scam, it's a known bug that these sometimes get sent to people who didn't request one. Delete it if you didn't request it! That easy.
Attention friends! As a Cyber Sec Specialist, I feel a need to share this. If you receive an email from Ao3, alerting you to a password reset attempt, DO NOT click on the links! This is a scam to get you to provide your current password. Absolutely terrible. Safe cyber smart! #ao3 #scamalert

Quick reminder that Trump can release the Epstein files himself at any time. The only reason the House is voting to release them is because he wouldn't.

Can't do my main work task for the morning because Cloudflare is down and can't even take advantage of the sudden free time to read something on AO3 because Cloudflare is down. We really need to stop letting 3 companies control 90% of the internet's infrastructure.

AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

Just realized I'm the reader every writer fears - I will research a throw away mention in one line of your novel if it strikes me as mildly interesting new information or the slightest bit unlikely. I apologize profusely.

Normally I take a very poor view of Anish Kapoor and his litigious avarice in the art world, but just this one I'm going to have to cheer him on.

While the aurora was very cool, I can’t help thinking that in an earlier era a blood red sky being seen across large parts of the country while a tyrant tries to become king would be taken as a serious omen.

This is the tackiest nonsense I’ve ever seen.
Below are two videos showing the White House vs Waldorf Astoria renovations. Can someone knowledgable about the relevant trades breakdown what it took to do each one? What was the process? How much human skill and craftsmanship were involved?

Just got a call from a freight brokerage company that opened with "Hi I'm an AI agent". Never blocked a phone number quicker, I don't give a shit that we've used them before to arrange shipping. We sure won't be now.

Disgusted to be represented by this coward. Sent a message to his office calling for his resignation and I hope fellow Illinoisans will do the same. We deserve better and so does democracy.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

As someone who works in manufacturing and hears a LOT of MAGA opinions, Democrats need to lean harder on the illegal tariffs angle. It's killing industry and even the Trump supporters are PISSED. A lot of "I didn't vote for THIS" going around.
Cowlitz County WA (where Longview is) went for Trump by 20 points and is pretty aggressively MAGA. Longview also a river-port and timber-mill town that’s been hit hard by tariffs.
sorry I know we’re supposed to be moving on to the infighting but holy hell they lost in Longview??!
