My first time teaching students for a week in beautiful Lago di Cadago, it took a lot of prep but it was worth it!

Still find it hard to believe that we could take cores in the morning and by the evening know the microbial communities living in them 🤯 🧬

Safe to say I had a pretty nice first experience of fieldwork yesterday 🌞

An interesting WYMM conference with #nanopore - worth it for the socks 🧦

(And I know clinical is where the money is but it’d be nice to see representation of all the other research and uses that are being done with the technology 🙏 )

Long-read micro conference anyone? 🦠 🧬

Really chuffed to say today was my first day in my new position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Environmental Microbiology Group at ETH Zürich! 🇨🇭 🎉

I passed my PhD viva, massive thanks to @KennethWasmund and @McCarthy_Ronan as my excellent examiners but bigger thanks to my amazing group and in particular my supervisor Prof Sam Robson! 🧬
