I saw this gorgeous anole just now, but he knew I'd seen him, and he quickly faded from bright green to a duller camo color as I approached.

First female painted bunting sighting of the season. Saw our first male 5 days ago. The ladies are green. She's on the far right edge of the photo on the picnic table feeder. A terrible photo, but proof of presence: the only small green bird we expect. We'll probably get better sightings soon.
On the left in the foreground is the head of a mourning dove. In the background on the far right is a platform feeder shaped like a picnic table. On the far right of that feeder is a green, female painted bunting. She is out of focus and is the same color as the dappled lawn behind her, so she's hard to see. I will attempt to reposition this feeder for a better peek tomorrow. The trick will be finding a location that the squirrels can't vault into from the trees.

This is new. Bird Buddy took a belly shot of an incoming bird, a grackle I'm guessing based on them being about the only black birds I see visiting my Bird Buddy. Nice landing gear, anyway.
An unusual picture of a bird taken by the motion-sensitive camera in the birdfeeder. The black bird is at top center, head up and tail down, between the overhanging peaks of the feeder roof. It looks like the bird is flying straight up, as if it made a run for the feeder and changed its mind at the last second.

New moon rising over a cabbage palm at dawn. Some light can be seen reflecting off the surface of the Indian River Lagoon. The trees and land are dark. The sky is red near the horizon. The moon is just above and to the right of the palm. There are dark, low clouds on the horizon, but otherwise, the sky is clear.

I can stare down a dove, but the grackle worries me.
