This account might not be very active for a while.

I'm a female (yes, feminist) mathematician and a physicist with growing interests in Astrophysics, Materials Science and all areas of Earth Science.
I looked him up on Wikipedia (yes, I know, not the best source, but I was in a rush), saw this quote

"that in the special case of science and engineering, there are issues of intrinsic aptitude"

and instantly hated him. Any age is good for loathing somebody like that.

Musk has been given a lot of power in the past (at DOGE), and as the would-be overlord of Mars, is asking for a lot more. To peer into his thoughts and what passes for his soul is to see why one should be reluctant to give him what he wants.

I guess there might be one other thing to be gained from the exercise - I've heard Grok described as an attempt by Musk to get everybody to agree with him, by having his own views written into its code. If so, then Grok is giving us an unflattering look, deep into Elon's heart.

Grok isn't a genius. Grok is a troll, one that tried to shame me, a few times, over my unwillingness to be passed out as a prize in a sexual lottery, to some lucky incel.

One doesn't need to be brilliant to sink to that, as a debate strategy. One only needs to be a pig, or be programmed by one.

I've seen a myth floating around that AI "has an IQ of 800" and has made the human mind obsolete. In reality, beating Grok in an argument is not all that difficult, because Grok is a blithering idiot, one whose go-to tactic is to enrage his opponent by ignoring personal boundaries.
November 11, 2025 at 10:22 AM
I've found only one really good reason to chat with Grok: I've found doing so (and then reposting the contents of the chat) to be a great way of de-mythologizing AI, by showing the true believers just how brilliant present day AI is not.

Or have I misunderstood?
November 11, 2025 at 10:10 AM
You seem quite convinced that a genuine artificial intelligence is an impossibility. I find myself curious as to where such a strong conviction in the truth of such a bold claim would come from, if that is, indeed, your position.

Before we continue - is that, in fact, your position?
November 11, 2025 at 10:10 AM
If you're going to say a thing like that, then you need to post a picture of the Crucifixion, done in the style of the Matrix.

It's the law.

I think that politically, we're expected to be screaming about everybody in power, either in support or derision (one or the other) all of the time, but when the man is running in elections that I will never be voting in, I'm at a loss to see the point of any participation by me in any of that.
November 10, 2025 at 3:36 AM
I've blown minds in some circles by doing something unintentionally revolutionary in the case of Mamdani. I've given the man no thought, at all, because I don't live in New York City, and he doesn't affect me, very much, one way or another.
November 10, 2025 at 3:33 AM
I understand. There has even been wild talk going around about licorice.

That must hurt. People can be so cruel.
November 6, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Or was that somebody else who bleeted about that issue? Some of us have been trying to find that post, without success.

3. When will Bluesky users realize that "skeets" just sounds wrong? Some guy starts talking about those, and sorry, but this is what we're seeing.

No way am I cleaning that up.

A few questions ...

1. How could anybody not love to read? Isn't this why backpacks are so popular? They're for carrying books, aren't they?

2. Have you come to terms, yet, with your son's defection from chocolate to vanilla ice cream, and all that implied in terms of innocence lost?

So go! Tell your wife that you keep meaning to go, and unleash the power of nagging!

You're welcome.

My worry is that my AI will be throwing me the frisbee, while yelling "catch, girl, catch."

Tells you a lot about the guy, doesn't it? Bye, pal!

To those reading this: my evil tweetstorm, the one in which I talked about the mistreatment I was getting from some anonymous employee on the staff.

bsky.app/profile/micr...

Our good friend Private Iced wanted what is looking like a racial incident to not go public.
Imagine getting this infamous error message

"Oops!

Unable to connect. Please check your internet connection and try again."

when going to your account on Bluesky, rendering your account completely unusable, for over a month. Imagine this already being an infamous recurring issue.

Namely, the link from Bluesky's bleet to my own. Goodbye, whoever you were, I'm not going to miss you.
October 23, 2025 at 12:45 AM
As it should. That's the entire concept of "transparency," something that you are against. No worries.

I'll just block you. That will break every connection on this site between our comments, except for that link to your complaint about my so-called "spam," without breaking the link that matters.
October 23, 2025 at 12:44 AM
By putting my complaint in a form of a bleetstorm following Bluesky's latest reply, I've put it in a place where others will see it. If they decide to act like pigs and support their out of control employee, the bad word about their behavior will get around and negatively affect their reputation.

"Sunlight is the best disinfectant" is a cliche for a good reason.
