With AuDHD I completely understand, anytime I talk about my research I have to script and rehearse my talk vigorously otherwise I’ll babble on way over time, which I usually do anyway during the Q&A 🤣

I tried so hard with my science background to educate and no one would listen, I grieved those I care for and still question why is it so hard to have empathy for others. I’ve tried to show kindness but now I’ve just completely lost my tolerance for so called “friends” who seem to lack empathy.

I saw a friend post “an award to the unvaccinated and surviving the fear mongering”

As someone who lost family to covid and has long covid myself, I realized at this point I’m just pissed that they still think and behave this way.

What I don’t understand is what they have against being autistic and why it’s such a “bad” thing.

Is it because my mind works different from the “norm” or do they see us struggle occasionally or find small talk pointless and think less of us?

We bring beauty into the world, why can’t they see?

My favorite is Caulobacter crescentus (a little biased, it’s my research model organism) as I learn more about it Ive become fascinated with its cell physiology.

Hooray for getting your sleep schedule back on track! I’ve tried everything with my sleep doc and I still wake consistently at 3:30 am. I’m pretty sure all my conditions are in agreement that it’s a good time to be awake and theres “no way” we will flare up later in the day because of this.

My first thought 💭 I wonder if I could pass my PhD dissertation defense through interpretive dance. 💃

Right!!! It’s that little hit of dopamine when I get new books that keeps me going!

Downside, I have no more room for bookshelves. I may have to get creative in the storage of my books 😂

I’m glad that worked for you! I tend to go through phases, earlier this year I read 21 books in 2 months because I was so focused on reading, now I will pick up a book, read 2/3 of it, then get busy and it falls to the side. I’m thinking of designating reading time each day to get back at it.

There is nothing wrong with being autistic. There are many reasons to dislike Elon because of his actions and stance on the issues. We can have proper conversations about this without disparaging the entire autistic community.

The Witch Walker series by Charissa Weeks is an incomplete series but well worth the wait. There are two more books slated in the series and I’m itching to get my hands on! It follows a mute FMC and a well written enemies to lovers trope.

A.K. Mulford’s The Five Crowns of Okrith series well represents the LGBTQ+ Community and follows a different romance story in each book, while connecting them all together in the world. I think they are beautifully written and each book brought joy and unique perspectives.
