The improvements provide access to a number of schools and other local facilities including St Peter’s, Isca and St James Schools, to Heavitree and Whipton and towards the river and Countess Wear. They also link up with the quiet route through St Leonards to the City Centre.

This equates to at least about half million miles of safer, easier journeys per year. Over 100,000 children a year now have a safer route to school, to see friends, go to the shops or play in Ludwell Valley Park.
