Obviously adding little to this discussion but many years ago I worked for an insurance co with business on the Isle of Man. One day I rang the tax office and said I was ringing from the mainland. The lady at the other end pointed out that THEY were the mainland - we were the big island to the east.

I've been finding details about my father's racing past in the 1930s, 40s & 50s. I've found so many races he rode in but, luckily for me, he only worked for 3 trainers. There seems to be little historical information for this 'industry', unless it's about the famous owners and trainers.

That could explain it although it'd have to be weighed to be sure. It looks to be a good size, as I said, and I'll keep feeding it for as long as it takes. We had smaller ones a couple of months ago but I haven't seen the for a while & they came from a different direction
