At the bottom of a nostalgia rabbit hole, look what I found! The owner of this shop kindly employed 17 yr old me when I first moved to San Francisco. Years later, their iconic Siamese bookstore cat Peasblossom showed up as a main character in my first book, All of Us With Wings.

My daughter just googled--we think they are Fall Webworm Moths because of the time of year and their cottonwood prefereces. Years ago, I was visited by a moth-fairy-person who looked just like this!
